What is Mind Management and how to strike a balance between work and personal life?

A question on the tip of the lips of many, but a daily struggle to find the most suitable answer.

Modern day work culture places high demands on an individual and the amount stress generated has only increased with the passage of time. Although many of us realize that work consumes much of our time and lives, few are able to get past its strigent needs and dedicate time elsewhere on a routine basis.

The fundamental aspect of managing your mind is to realize that one has to dedicate time for work as well as life beyond work. In the time that a person has for his/her private life, the best part of it can be dedicate to activities that can guarantee relaxation, reinforcement and rejuvenation of the mind.

It is critical to leave work behind at the office and not bring it home. Many of us are guilty of addiction to work even after reaching home, and carry it late into the night. If this is a routine, it can be detrimental to physical and mental health of the person, not to mention the “workaholic” tag that the person receives at home.

Utilization of time outside work for causes and actions purely related to mental (and spiritual) health will bring long term benefits. If the person resorts to relaxation techniques like meditation and pranayam, it is only natural that peace of mind and good health ensues.

Taking it further, if the person realizes that true happiness that we all seek likes at the feet of God, he will automaticall begin practice of devotion to God. This is the ultimate search for true happiness where the person realizes that search for bliss in the material world is futile, and the absolute truth lies in a higher plane of joy, in the spiritual realm.

Yes very true, we make work our life, though it is just a means to earn a livelihood. This beautiful life given by God is more than spending 14hrs. in office
We definitely need to .strike a balance between work and home.. So what’s the mantra how do we strike a balance in the time when corporates want work in return for every penny that they pay. Bringing work back home is not always a choice but compulsion. Give us practical remedies..
